Massive Cover Up By Judge Mangum

We have just received the final Temporary Order as prepared and signed by Judge Mangum.

Here are the bottom lines:

1. The wording is substantially different from the order that was drafted and submitted last week by Mr. Mills' attorney.

2. The wording is substantially different from the verbal ruling given by Judge Mangum on March 6th.

3. Almost all of the judge's most revealing remarks about homeschooling have been removed.

4. All of the positive findings regarding Venessa Mills' mothering and homeschooling have been removed or qualified.

5. A large amount of additional material has been added directly from affidavits submitted on behalf of Mr. Mills - all of which focus on a slanderous attack against Venessa Mills' church and religious beliefs. None of this was alluded to in the judge's verbal ruling, or in the order drafted before this case went public.

6. No material is included from the rebuttal affidavits submitted on behalf of Venessa Mills that show the allegations against her and her church to be completely false and ridiculous.

7. The entire document has been changed by Judge Mangum in order to defend himself and destroy the character and credibility of Venessa Mills.

8. The whole Order is blatantly intended to shift the focus away from the issues of justice regarding homeschooling, financial support, and adultery - and instead use "shock and awe" tactics to pull attention into a mudslinging free-for-all against Venessa Mills' church and religious beliefs.

This kind of result was not totally unexpected, but the sheer bold-faced scale of it is incredible!

We'll be posting more once we have the chance to fully review everything and seek legal advice.

It would be nice to see on this site both the:

1. Entire order drafted by the Father's attorney.

2. Entire order signed by the Judge.

Of course redaction of such things as social security number and birth months and birth days, bank account numbers etc. was not intended by the word entire.

Our plan is definitely to post all the information as soon as possible - we just need to take some time to evaluate the situation and seek legal counsel first.

This judge should recuse himself from this case to remove the appearance of bias and corruption from this case.

Please forward everything to the media. You were mentioned on Glenn Beck's radio program today. Your case is getting good national coverage and informing people who will support you. Keep shining light on the corruption. This is outrageous and you and your children deserve to be treated fairly. The corrupt can only be dealt with in the light of day. You are not only fighting for your children, you are fighting for a better, larger culture. Thank you!

Based on the limited excerpts from the Father's Attorney's proposed order the judge was working from, financial support appears to be the most obvious injustice.

Details on the relative education of the Mother and Father and work history of both the Mother and Father and well as the age would appear to be very relevant facts which were missing from your posts here.

Liberal woman's groups as well as home schools should be appalled if those financial details were contained in the judges ruling.

I think Mrs Mills Civil rights are being violated, where is the ACLU when you need them. Oh never mind is stands for Anti-Christian Law Underwriters.

Stay in the fight we are here!

Was the support low because with 50/50 shared custody (children one week with mom ... one week with dad) Ms. Mills would only have the children 1/2 of the month?

This is an attack on religion and parental choice. Any religion can be considered a cult by someone else who doesn't believe the same things or worship the same way. Why didn't the judge order the kids to go to a private nondenominational school instead? Why didn't he tell both parents that they would have to pay for half the costs? Why? Because the father didn't want to pay anything at all for the kids education. That is the bottom line. If the mother is soooo nutty why didn't he ask for full custody. Because that would interfer with the girlfriend and take time away from him being with the girlfriend. The whole issue is money and selfishness...4 years is NOT temporary...1 year would be considered temporary not 4.

I hope the kids have to go to public school. What's wrong with alternative views?

I think this is just the beginning of the end for all things Christian in America. We have no one to turn to in these situations that will really do something to rid us of these kind of judges. I pray God will hear our prayers and His vengence will be accomplished.

To Beau: You asked what's wrong with alternative views?

Well, I'd like to ask you when do publically educated children get their years of homeschooling and Christian education? Since you're so interested in "alternative" views, maybe we can take your kids and expose them to some different views? How would you feel about that?

If it's going to work one way, then it must also work in the opposite direction. Athiests don't get to "challenge" our views if we don't also get to challenge theirs! Unless, of course, you agree with discrimination?

Well, MY publicly educated kids get their Christian education at home as well as at school! I am ALREADY exposing them to alternative views... there isn't anything wrong with learning about evolution as long as they understand WHY people believe the way they believe! My kids understand that people who don't believe in God HAVE to make up different theories as to how the earth was formed... that doesn't RUIN my kids does it?
It seems like you have bought into the "protectionistic" theory of raising kids, where you feel like you number one duty is to protect your kids from the world. I fear you are sadly mistaken. After all, the Puritans quickly learned that you cannot legislate morality, now, can you? You can't MAKE your kids trust Christ! So start trusting the Lord and stop trying to shield your kids from the world!

By the way, I am a pastor, just fyi.

Beau,
Neither a judge nor a pastor have the right to inflict their opinions and world view onto a mother who is doing a more than competent job of educating her children. Homeschooling is not illegal. Passing on one's faith to their children isn't illegal either. If, in your opinion, children need to be exposed to alternative views, then you should expose your own children and leave other peoples children out of it.

Beau:

No one said your kids would be "ruined". Ever. You're the one who said that these kids should be FORCED into a public education so they could be exposed to "alternative" views. How do you know they haven't been exposed to alternative views?

What I said was, that by even insinuating that kids should be FORCED in to a publically funded institution to be "well-rounded", "exposed to alternative views", etc... then shouldn't publically educated children also be "forced" to home school for a few years to be "well-rounded"? If not, then that's discrimination, plain and simple. Maybe it's public schooled children who need the "compliment" to THEIR education, not the other way around. After all, they're the ones shooting up other kids, dropping out like flies, showing up for college completely illiterate BUT they're "socially" acceptable? Not THAT'S a convolution of values if I've ever heard any!!

My children take music from Converse college, participate in a local co-op every week, play Upward Soccer, are members of the National Debate Team via NCFCA (which includes participation in multiple state qualifiers), and my oldest, and the only one old enough to qualify, is a member of the National Home School Honor Society and ALL of my children test AT LEAST 2 grades above where the government says they "should". Do they sound "unsocialized" to you or protected in any way? I'd say they are MORE socialized than public or private schooled children and certainly more capable of dealing with the "real" world.

Not to mention they've traveled extensively outside the continental US. I would say that most home schoolers have similar stories, and that the "protectionist" theory you cling to is just bias and ignorance that most people who don't research home schooling, and only watch us on "Wife Swap", have been sold.

The TRUTH is that home schoolers consistently test, score, and perform better than most publically schooled children. What else would home school opposers like to see? Other than indoctrinated robots, of course.

Parents have the right to educate their children and frankly, they are doing a much better job, statistically, than ANY public institution. (perhaps THIS is the real problem the government has with home schoolers?) No judge, pastor, or otherwise can prove differently because it's the truth and it's about time that uninformed people began to get real knowledge about home schoolers.
